Al Murray
Al Murray is a comedian from Stewkley, Buckinghamshire. He was born 10th May 1968.
He is most famous for his alter-ego The Pub Landlord which has made him a national hero. The Pub Landlord plays a cliché right-wing English man who has a disdain for anything un-English, i.e the Germans and French nationalities, and a love for British rock legends Queen.
With the success of The Pub Landlord, Al Murray went on to bigger and brighter things; the TV series Time Gentlemen Please (Sky), the highly successful show An Audience with.... and Personality Disorder (ITV1) which saw him introduce a whole host of new characters and demonstrate his large array of comedy skills.
Following the format of all top comedians, he appeared three times on The Royal Variety Performance (ITV1), hosting both Live At The Apollo (BBC1) and Edinburgh and Beyond (Paramount Comedy Channel) and his edgy quiz show Fact Hunt (ITV1).
He has also released six best selling live DVDs My Gaff, My Rules, Glass of White Wine For The Lady, Giving it Both Barrels, Live At The Palladium, The Beautiful British Tour and Barrel of Fun.
Al Murray has sold out the O2 Arena, London as well as worldwide shows in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
He has written three books to date: The Pub Landlord's Book of British Common Sense (2007), The Pub Landlord Says Think Yourself British (October 2009) and The Pub Landlord's Great British Pub Quiz Book (2010).
