Bill Bailey (real name Mark Bailey) was born on 13th January 1964 and has been performing for over 20 years with his musical comedy acts.
He was born in Somerset and started his musical career with his first unsuccessful band, The Famous Five, progressing to his now infamous musical performances, compromising music, humor and impromptu madness.
Bill Bailey has been nominated in The Observer 50 funniest comedy acts three times and voted number 7 in Channel Four’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups.
He first had success with the stand-up show Bewilderness and later Bill Bailey tickets for his 2003 show Part Troll were a sell-out, as well as his 2006 show Steampunk, also pulling in the fans.
Extensive touring throughout 2008 saw Bill Bailey grow to momentous status. His 2009 tour Bill Bailey: Live drew inspiration from all things Darwin and was highly popular with the public.
Not only content with taking to the stage, he is also played a small part in the 2011 comical film ‘Burke and Hare’ and later went on to star in Baboons With Bill Bailey, an eight part series following the lives of Baboons.
In July 2011, Bill Bailey performed in a band at Sonisphere festival at Knebworth to over 60,000 delighted fans. From this he went onto produce Bill Bailey In Metal on CD and DVD in November 2011.
