Jimmy Carr
Jimmy Carr (full name James Anthony Patrick Carr) was born in Hounslow, London in 1972. He is of British and Irish descent. Jimmy Carr is one of the UK’s well-known and controversial stand-up comedian’s in the ‘magic circle’ of top comic geniuses.
Jimmy Carr tickets for his 2003 Edinburgh Show Charm Offensive proved to be a huge success with the whole month’s performance sold out by the second day of the festival and achieving critical acclaim and support from the press. Alongside his stand-up career, Jimmy Carr has also taken his hand to writing and acting.
He has made numerous guest appearances including appearing on Have I Got News For You as a guest presenter and taking to the wheel in the celebrity driving competition on Top Gear. Notable appearances throughout his career include winning the award for 2006 British Comedy Award for "Best Live Stand up" for his tour Gag Reflex, hosting Channel 4 game shows Distraction and Your Face or Mine? He also hosted the quiz show 8 out of 10 Cats.
Jimmy Carr has received numerous awards over the years, four LAFTAS (The Language and Film Talent Awards) for Funniest Man and Best Stand Up, the Time Out Award Winner: Best Stand Up 2002 and Rose D'Or Nomination 2006: Best Game Show, 'Distraction'.
