John Bishop
John Bishop (full name John Joseph Bishop) is a stand up comedian and actor, born in Liverpool, 1966. He received the accolade for Best Breakthrough Artist in the 2010 British Comedy Awards and is most famous for his early Fringe Festival appearance in 2009, earning him an “Eddie” award for his show Elvis Has Left the Building.
His earlier career saw him work as a semi-professional footballer and nightclub doorman which later became the inspiration for his work in stand-up comedy. He has also appeared in a number of television programs most notably; Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1), Live At The Apollo (BBC1), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4). He has received critical acclaim from The Times, “Bishop has funny Bones” and the Telegraph describing him as “Frankly hilarious.”
