Omid Djalili
Omid Djalili was born 30 September 1965. He is a British-Iranian stand-up comedian and actor as well as an accomplished writer. He lives in Chelsea, southwest London and is married with two children.
He has appeared in a number of films where he has played the stereotypical ‘middle eastern’ character. Notably, The Infidel (2010), The Mummy (1999), Notting Hill (1999) and Spy Game (2001).
Omid Djalili grew famous through his stints at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival between 1993-1994; then in 1995-96 Omid Djalili tickets were a sell-out for his shows ‘Short Fat Kebab Shop Owner’s Son’ and ‘Arab & The Jew’.
Year on year Omid Djalili’s performances have grown ever popular, with his 2005 show ‘No Agenda’ having record breaking sales on the fringe totalling 16,500 and this show then transferred to a total sell-out nationwide 40 date tour, including 2 shows at the London Palladium in 2006.
