Rhod Gilbert
Rhod Gilbert is a Welsh stand-up comedian. He was born on 18th October 1968 in Carmarthen.
His shows have become hugely successful over the last few years, basing his acts on his life experiences, especially his time learning Welsh at Exeter University.
Rhod Gilbert has received a number of awards, six Chortle Awards in total (live comedy awards), 'Best Panel Show' - Ask Rhod Gilbert - Loaded LAFTA Awards 2011 (mens’ magazine award) and many more. His TV series on BBC2 “Rhod Gilbert's Work Experience” features his various attempts at trying to work in ‘normal everyday jobs’. The series won him a Welsh BAFTA In 2011.
In 2008, he appeared at the 80th Royal Variety Performance and has appeared at a number of high-profile venues across the UK. Rhod Gilbert has made numerous appearances in talk shows, radio and quiz shows.
