Grammy Award Winning Neo Folkies Return For Several Summer Festivals

Following their triumphant “Album of the Year” scoop at the Grammys, Mumford & Sons will be making an appearance at Phoenix Park, Dublin. They continue their ‘Gentlemen of the Road’ mini festival, with a date at The Convent Field in Lewes on Friday, 19th July, T in the Park in July 2013 and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on 6th July 2013.

The neo-folkies, who toured “The Gentlemen of the Road Stopover” last year, describe the idea behind the touring mini festival as being "loosely based upon our favourite festivals like Colorado’s TellurideBluegrass and Scotland's Loopallu Festivals."

Mumford & Sons were formed in late 2007 and consist of Marcus Mumford, MarshallWinston, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane. In 2009 Mumford & Sons established themselves amongst the new-folk scene that was rising out of London at thispoint, alongside artists such as Lara Marling and Noah and the Whale.

Mumford & Sons went on to release their debut album Sigh No More, winning them the BBC’s Sound Of 2009 award with ease. Mumford & Sons soon scaled the heights to stardom and gained an army of fans with their beautiful blend of pure musical genius.

The band’s hit track Little Lion Man spreads their sound around the country, as it took Zane Lowe’s heart and subsequently earned them his Track Of The Week approval and raking in huge successes all over the place.

British song writing legend, Ray Davies was quoted saying that Mumford & Sons would be collaboratingwith him on his new material; Mumford & Sons’ Marcus Mumford confirmed this in an interview soon after, stating, “I am more excited about that than I have been about anything before in my life.”
