With the release of Fatboy Slim’s 1998 album “You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby” and its smash single “The Rockafeller Skank,” the former member of acapella-indie sensation The Housemartins became a household name and brought Big Beat into the wider mainstream.
Fatboy Slim’s previous release, the controversially titled debut “Better Living Through Chemistry” was released in 1996 but failed to make a commercial impact for Norman Cook.
The album “Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars” saw various singles becoming dance anthems, such as the pounding “Star 69,” the Macy Gray collaboration “Demons” and “Sunset (Bird of Prey).”
His most recent album, 2010’s “Here Lies Love” is a collaboration with former talking Head frontman, David Byrne.
