Owl City
Owl City is American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose real name is Adam Young who is from Owatonna, Minnesota. Owl City shot to fame with his electronic masterpieces which he shared on MySpace and he became a worldwide hit, and promptly signed to Universal republic in 2008.
Adam Young began to make music while working as a truck driver and suffered from insomnia which inspired him to make music at home. He released his first EP titled ‘Of June’ in 2007 and a year later released ‘Maybe I’m Dreaming’ which reached #15 on the Billboard Chart. ‘Ocean Eyes’, Owl City’s first full length album was released via iTunes and contained the hits "Umbrella Beach", "Vanilla Twilight" and "Fireflies" and was a US smash as well as in Canada and in the UK with “Fireflies”, which reached #40 on the Singles Chart.
A year later and Owl City moved into a new musical direction and created “An Airplane Carried Me to Bed” which included acoustic elements to the music and moved away from the traditional electronic sounds he was used to producing. Working with music maestro Nick Bracegirdle, Owl City provided the vocals on his single "Middledistancerunner" (2010) and worked with top dance producer and DJ, Armin van Buuren on the track “Youtopia” and in November released a fresh album Flight via iTunes again.
‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ followed on and contained the singles "Alligator Sky", "Deer in the Headlights" and "Lonely Lullaby" which was also sent out to all Owl City members as a special present.
