Skrillex
Already dividing dubstep disciples, Sonny Moore aka Skrillex (and previously Twipz) in the underground scene, has been cited as being responsible for bringing dubstep to the mainstream.
Along with the likes of up-coming artists, Chase and Status, Nero and DJ Fresh, the recent dubstep explosion can be mildly attributed to the success of Skrillex.
Skrillex originates from LA, U.S.A and was born on 15th January 1998. He has achieved an incredible amount of success in a short space of time; with five Grammy nominations and remixes for the likes of Black Eyed Peas (“Rock That Body”), Lady Gaga (“Bad Romance” and “Alejandro”), and La Roux (“In For The Kill”), it’s no wonder he’s such hot property in 2011!
Skrillex released his first album, My Name Is Skrillex (2010), followed by his dance-electro-dubstep hit, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites (Oct 2010) causing a stir in the Dance Charts – the album reached number 3 in US Dance Chart. His follow up album More Monsters and Sprites (June 2011) did well, rocketing to number 5 in the US Dance Chart.
