Next spring sees Underworld play a massive gig in London. The group will headline Alexandra Palace on 17 March.
Underworld landed a global club smash with the single Born Slippy (Nuxx) after the song appeared on the opening soundtrack of the box office hit Trainspotting. The song shot to number two in the UK Single Charts and established Underworld on the club scene.
Born Slippy (Nuxx) has since become a club and party staple. Underworld became global superstars, topping the bills of the biggest events.
Karl Hyde and Rick Smith started the group in the late 1980’s as a more conventional 4-piece guitar band and landed a minor success with the single Underneath The Radar off their debut album of the same name.
A change in the line-up and more notably the addition of DJ and electronic producer Darren Emerson, Underworld shifted their sound to a more techno and club-orientated style. Underworld’s current line-up features founding members Karl Hyde and Rick Smith.
