Isle of Wight Festival
The Isle of Wight Festival began in 1968 and was created by three brothers - Ron, Ray and Bill Foulk. The festival has been held at various locations over the years, but from 2002, has been residing at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight.
The festival takes place in June, over three days and has increased in capacity year on year, reaching 65,000 attendees in 2011.
The music policy for Isle of Wight Festival is a predominately rock and alternative, although, over the last years has incorporated urban acts in response to the ever changing music dominating the market.
Over the years the festival has seen a number of world-famous artists perform; everyone from the likes of rock legends such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and more recently pop and rock sensation Coldplay, Paul Weller, Stereophonics and other popular artists have graced the stages.
