Kew The Music
Kew The Music is an annual music event held at Kew Gardens in Richmond, Surrey. The event is set in the backdrop of the magnificent Victorian Temperate House.
The 2011 event took place 6-11th July 2011 and featured The Feeling / The Noisettes with Joe Stilgoe (6th July 2011), Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra with special guest: Sandie Shaw (7th July 2011), Jamie Cullum with Natalie Williams (8th July 2011), Bryan Ferry with Ellis-Bextor and Joe Stilgoe (9th July 2012), Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club with Omara Portuondo and Chucho Valdés (10th July 2011) and Blondie with The Magnets and Joe Stilgoe (11th July 2011).
Tickets for Kew The Music proved to be highly popular with four out of the six events sold out. The event is open to people of all ages, and is set in beautiful lush surroundings, perfect for listening to music in the great outdoors whilst enjoying a picnic on a balmy summer’s day.
Kew Gardens is steeped in history which dates back to the 16th and 17th century. Henry VII built Richmond Palace in the 16th century, on the site of the earlier royal house and is today visited by thousands of visitors each year.
