Reading and Leeds Festival History
The festival has its roots in Reading where it was launched in 1961 as a Jazz festival under the name Reading Festival. Leeds, as an additional site, was launched in the 1990s at Temple Newsam but moved to its current location in Bramham Park in 2003.
Reading and Leeds Festival is now an institution and often a right-of-passage for many music lovers. Each year, the festival compiles the best music acts for one huge end-of-season party.
