Reading and Leeds Festival is one of the UK's biggest music festivals and has become an institution amongst music fans. The gigantic end-of-season festival, with two sites at Reading’s Richfield Avenue and Leeds’ Bramham Park, will take place over the August bank holiday weekend on 28 – 30 August.

Reading and Leeds Festival have confirmed Metallica as their first headline act. Along with Metallica, Jamie T, Pierce The Veil, Wilkinson Live, Refused, Run The Jewels and Manchester Orchestra have also been confirmed on the 2015 line-up.

Reading and Leeds Festival History

The festival has its roots in Reading where it was launched in 1961 as a Jazz festival under the name Reading Festival. Leeds, as an additional site, was launched in the 1990s at Temple Newsam but moved to its current location in Bramham Park in 2003.

Reading and Leeds Festival is now an institution and often a right-of-passage for many music lovers. Each year, the festival compiles the best music acts for one huge end-of-season party.
