Born in Forrest City, USA in 1946, Al Green’s career is now spanning over 50 years. He started to perform from the age of 9 when he formed a group called the Green Brothers, later assembled Al Green and The Creations before embarking on his solo career that really took off in the 1970’s when Al Green would frequent the charts with his infectious gospel and soul sound.
Al Green’s most loved songs include 1971’s Number 1 hit, Let’s Stay Together, and songs, such as L-O-V-E (Love), Lay It Down, Feels Like Summer and interpretations of famous song. His versions of The Bee Gee’s ‘How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?’ or the collaboration with NYC pioneering dance producer, Arthur Baker on pop classic ‘The Message is Love’ and Al’s take on the gospel standard ‘Amazing Grace’ have to be heard.
On tour with Al Green is the award-winning Michael McDonald. Known for his distinct soulful husky baritone voice, Michael McDonald was a member in Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers before launching his solo career with his first big hit in 1982 with the single ‘I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near)’ off his solo debut album ‘If That’s What It Takes.’ To this day, fans around the globe love Michael McDonald’s wide-eyed soul style.
