After winning BGT in 2009, which saw the group beat the acclaimed singer Susan Boyle, Diversity’s prize was as an appearance on the Royalty Variety Performance. Their slot on the prestigious show was just the beginning of huge things for the dancers from London and Essex.
The group led by Ashely Banjo went on to enjoy a number of successful tours in the UK. The shows saw the group perform their electrifying dance routines in the biggest arenas around the country.
The current members in the group include brothers Ashley and Jordan Banjo, Sam and Mitchell Craske, Ike Ezekwugo, Perri Kiely, Warren Russell and Terry Smith.
Diversity’s other ventures
Along with their group achievements, individual members of Diversity have enjoyed huge success in their own right.
Founding member and choreographer Banjo became a judge on Sky 1’s Got To Dance for five series. A natural on television and a superb dancer, this led to the creation of the television show Ashley Banjo’s Secret Street Crew.
Perri Kiely also proved to be a favourite on television and starred on ITV’s Splash, which sees celebrities learn to dive and compete against each other. Kiely went on to be crowned the winner.
