German MotoGP
The city of Chemnitz has been a home for Motorsport since the 1920’s. Right up until 1990 races were held on closed-off public roads in the areas around Chemnitz.
In 1996 Chemnitz finally got its long overdue purpose-built racecourse in form of the Sachsenring. Since it has first hosted the MotoGP in 1998, many improvements have been made to the complex, including the addition of permanent pit garages.
The circuit features many tight corners, making it one of the slower tracks on the MotoGP diaries – but no less spectacular!
