Peter Kay announces Phoenix Nights arena shows
Peter Kay has confirmed that the original cast of Phoenix Nights will reunite for a number of arena stage shows.

The Phoenix Nights stage shows will see Neil Fitzmaurice, Dave Spikey, Paddy McGuiness and, of course, Peter Kay reform in aid of Comic Relief.

The Phoenix Nights reunion will take place at the Manchester Arena on Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February 2015.

Peter Kay confirmed the news on Thursday 27 November. Phoenix Nights originally aired in 2001 on Channel 4. The show focuses on the Bolton venue The Phoenix Club, which is owned by Peter Kay’s character Brian Potter.

Written and created by Kay, Neil Fitzmaurice and Dave Spikey the show was a huge success and was nominated for a number of awards at the British Comedy Awards in 2002. The show won the coveted People’s Choice Award.

Despite being one of Britain’s most-loved comedians, Peter Kay last toured the UK during 2010. The comedian has since played several one-off shows but the reunion marks a rare chance for fans to see the star live on stage.
