Michael McIntyre Performs On Crutches
Michael McIntyre’s ‘Work in Progress’ tour almost came to a halt when the British comedian hurt himself during a show routine at the Cork Opera House last week.

The 36 year old got hurt while imitating England’s football goalkeeper Joe Hart attempting to save the penalty shoot by Abdrea Pirlo.

The revenge was painful and Michael McIntyre had to leave the stage briefly. When he returned a couple of minutes later on crutches he told his fans “You can search your souls. You’re all entitled to your money back. Don’t mind me. I am very rich.” Even in pain McIntyre couldn’t help cracking a joke, “This is not the show you paid for. Unless you enjoy casualty waiting rooms.”

The star comedian continued the show sitting down. After the show Cork Opera House CEO Mary Hickson voiced what many that night felt. “Michael is a trooper and braved the pain he was clearly suffering through during the second act. Cork Opera House wish him a full, speedy and successful recovery.”

“Work in Progress” continues with shows coming up this and next week in Halifax and Bristol. The tour visits more cities across the UK until the end of the year, with its final night on December 3rd 2012 at the London Wembley Arena.

Michael McIntyre tickets for all forthcoming ‘Work in Progress 2012’ tour dates are now available through Ticketmaster’s GET ME IN! ticket market.
