Ashes 2015 starts today in Cardiff
England gears up for two months of cricket against Australia in the 2015 Ashes series, which starts today in Cardiff.

The First Test will take place this week in Cardiff, with Day 1 starting today (Tuesday 8 July), and England Captain Alistair Cook is said to be ready for the competition.

Last year was a tough year for England who were defeated 5 - 0 in Australia. Speaking to the BBC, Alistair Cook said, “We've got an opportunity. That's the exciting thing. This is the biggest series you want to play in as a player. With Wimbledon going on, it's a great summer of sport and we want to be part of that."

This year sees England follow the lead of their new captain Trevor Bayliss. It will also be the first time England have been coached by an Aussie in Ashes history.

The teams will play at Cardiff's Swalec Stadium until 12 July. They will then move to London’s Lord’s Cricket Ground for the Second Test, which takes place from 16 to 20 July.

The Third Test will be held in Birmingham before England and Australia return the capital in August to complete the competition with the Fifth Test taking place at London’s Oval Ground.
