Ant and Dec take home Landmark Award at National Television Awards
23 Jan 2014
Ant and Dec received the Landmark Award for 25 years in television at last night’s National Television Awards.
The Geordie pair’s night was topped when they were presented with the Landmark Award on Wednesday after receiving the award for Entertainment Presenter for the thirteenth time in a row.
Ant and Dec, who will be touring the UK with their show Saturday Night Takeaway later this year, became emotional after they were presented with the Landmark Award.
Anthony McPartlin said, “It's been a pleasure, the last 25 years, we love it... we genuinely love it. Thank you very much indeed.”
Their night of success didn’t stop there as their show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! also won the Entertainment Programme award and they even received a tribute from the Prince of Wales.
He said, “The warmth and empathy they show towards charitable causes, their viewers and their deep friendship towards one another are as great achievements as their countless and well-deserved awards.”
Ant and Dec will be swapping television studios for arenas in August when they take their Saturday Night Takeaway on tour with over 25 dates across the UK. The tour kicks off on 6 August 2014 at the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff. Tickets are on sale now.
