Metallica to headline Reading and Leeds Festival
28 Nov 2014
Metallica have been announced as the first headline act on the 2015 Reading and Leeds Festival line-up.
It was confirmed on Tuesday 25 November that the metal-rock band would headline the festival for the fourth time during 2015.
Along with Metallica, Reading and Leeds Festival confirmed that Jamie T, Manchester Orchestra, Pierce The Veil, Refused, Run The Jewels and Wilkinson Live will also perform over the weekend at the two-site festival.
Metallica first headlined the festival 18 years ago and have since gone on to top the bill a further three times. Last year the group were the controversial headline act at Glastonbury festival. However, their performance on the Pyramid stage soon won over many punters.
Jamie T is also no stranger to the festival having played a surprise set at Reading Festival during 2014. The singer released his first album in five years, Carry On The Grudge, earlier this year.
Reading and Leeds Festival will be held on 28-30 August, over the bank holiday weekend during 2015. It has not yet been announced which day Metallica will headline.
Reading Festival takes place at Richfield Avenue while Leeds Festival is held at Bramham Park. More acts will be announced on the 2015 line-up. Earlier this year, the 2014 festival was headlined by Artic Monkeys, Blinke-182 and dual headliners Paramore and Queens of the Stone Age.
