Cher Lloyd Cuts Short V Festival Gig

Cher Lloyd was forced to cut short her V Festival set on Sunday after being repeatedly being hit by bottles filled with urine.
The ‘I Want You Back’ star performed the popular twin-site festival in Staffordshire on Saturday without interruption and was looking forward to repeat the same and play to her fans at V Festival’s Chelmsford site.
Two songs into Cher Lloyd’s set bottled filled with urine were thrown at the 19-year old singer, who shot to fame after taking part at the 2010 X Factor talent show.
Cher Lloyd left briefly let the stage but returned to complete the set but was forced to call the show off after more missiles were thrown at her. "It's hard enough being up here,” told the pop starlet to the largely friendly crowd,“but it's not nice having bottles of piss chucked at you."
Addressing her fans on Twitter, Cher Lloyd wrote on Twitter "Thank you so much for all the nice messages, shame that a couple of people had to ruin it. Tomorrow is another day."
Earlier this year Cher Lloyd made headlines after being cyber-bullied on Social Media platforms such as Facebook or Twitter. "There have been many times when I've cried myself to sleep," Cher Lloyd told BBC Panorama about the offensive online posts that also included death threats against the singer’s mother. "I think these people need help,” Cher Lloyd explains, “To do that to someone, there's got to be something wrong with you. It sounds strange but I feel sorry for them."
The annual V Festival is one of the UK’s most popular music and arts festivals. With a varied musical mix V Festival is famous for its diverse line-ups that features acts across genres; from indie and rock to pop and dance.
The festival made similar headlines to today’s back in 2000 when teen-pop duo Daphne & Celeste performed their unabashed pop tunes to a less than impressed crowd. The dup was booed and bottled by members of the audience but Daphne & Celeste withstand the negative reception and completed their V Festival set.
V Festival returns in 2013 and early Birds tickets to the 2013 instalment of the twin-festival will go on sale this Wednesday, August 22.
