Beyonce To Headline Glastonbury 2011
11 Feb 2011
The rumours were true. Beyonce confirmed rumours that she will be headlining at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. In a statement, the R&B star said that she “cannot wait” to play the legendary Festival at Worthy Farm near Pilton.
Glastonbury 2011 is taking place between 24th – 26th June. At this stage, Beyonce is the only headliner confirmed for this year’s Glastonbury Festival but Irish rock legends U2 and Coldplay have been hotly tipped for months to headline the other nights.
If the rumours are to be believed, this year’s headline shows at Glastonbury could see a few surprise guest appearances. Both, U2 and Coldplay have previously worked with Beyonce and also with her husband, Jay Z, who headlined Glasto in 2008 and was special guest on U2’s recent 360 Tour down-under. On the tour, Jay Z shared the mike with Bono during performances of re-worked U2 classics “Sunday Bloody Sunday” and “Rejoice.”
