Rather Be by Clean Bandit sells 1 million records
Clean Bandit’s Rather Be has become the first single release of 2014 to hit the million mark in sales.

The track was dropped at the end of January and became to the fastest selling single of 2014. Spending four weeks at the top spot, Rather Be sold 163,000 copies during its first week in the charts.

Rather Be is the fourth single to be lifted from the band’s debut album New Eyes and features vocals from Jess Glynne.

According to the Official Charts Company, It is the seventh track to reach a million sales in 2014 but the first that was released this year. Rather Be joins the likes of The Beatles, Sir Elton John’s and Queen who have previously had hits that have old over 1 million copies.

The news follows on from the change in chart rules earlier this month, which means streaming data in now included.

Clean Bandit will take their hit track Rather Be on the road in October 2014 where they will play dates across the UK with Clean Bandit tickets now available.
