Johnny Depp Joins Alice Cooper On Stage
28 Jun 2011
Alice Cooper performed at London’s 100 Club last Sunday. If the intimate gig at the legendary live venue wasn’t special enough, then surprise special guest Johnny Depp made sure this would be an evening to remember.
The heartthrob actor joined rock legend Alice Cooper on guitar for Alice’s classic tunes “School’s Out” and “I’m Eighteen.” "I think we could use another guitar player,” Cooper told the unexpected audience and reassured Johnny Depp that in case “(…) this whole movie thing doesn't work out, call us."
Dressed in a brown vest, loose black tie and black flat-cap with his trademark tinted glasses, Johnny Depp walked onstage, looking every inch like a rock star. The Hollywood icon strapped on a yellow Gibson Junior guitar and with little fuss, started playing the intro riff to “School’s Out.”
Johnny Depp is currently in the capital to film the forthcoming Tim Burton movie “Dark Shadows.”
Alice Copper performed 17 songs for his hardcore fans in the sweaty basement venue underneath Oxford Street. The set included a combination of his own tunes, including the chart-storming rock ballad, “Poison” and covers of classic 60’s tracks by The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Animals and Jimi Hendrix.
