Black Sabbath Not To Reunite
17 Aug 2011
Black Sabbath guitar slinger, Tony Iommi has crushed hopes for a much anticipated reunion of the legendary hard rocker.
Planetrock.com has today published extracts of a statement by Tony Iommi. The statement follows an article in the Birmingham Mail yesterday, Tuesday, 17th August, in which Tony Iommi was quoted the Black Sabbath members would soon get back together.
"I'm saddened,” Tony Iommie’s statement reads, “that a Birmingham journalist whom I trusted has chosen this point in time to take a conversation we had back in June and make it sound like we spoke yesterday about a Black Sabbath reunion.”
The Black Sabbath guitarist continues, "At the time I was supporting the Home Of Metal exhibition was merely speculating shooting the breeze on something all of us get asked constantly, 'Are you getting back together?' (…) Thanks to the Internet it's now gone round the world as some sort of 'official' statement on my part; absolute nonsense. I hope (the journalist) enjoyed his moment of glory; he won't have another at my expense.”
Tony Iommie also took the time to apologise to his Black Sabbath band mates, “To my old pals, Ozzy, Geezer and Bill, sorry about this, I should have known better."
