Dave Grohl Joins Cage The Elephant On Drums
Dave Grohl, aka ‘The Nicest Man in Rock,” has helped Cage The Elephant on drum duties.

Cage The Elephant, who are currently on tour in the US supporting Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters were close to pull out of a show after drummer Jared Champion suffered a burst appendix.

Dave Grohl immediately contacted his support band’s manager offering to help out his support act behind the drum kit.

Cage The Elephant guitarist, Lincoln Parrish told SPIN magazine, “I had to pinch myself.” Parrish says, “I turned around and Dave Grohl is playing the drums. It's an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nobody can replace Jared. But it's Dave-fucking-Grohl. If you're going to be replaced by anybody, it might as well be the best.”

The band hopes Jared Champion will be fit enough on 17th October to rejoin the band for the San Diego gig. Until then, it seems, Dave Grohl will be playing two sets each night; one with his own Foo Fighters and opening for himself as drummer for Cage The Elephant.
