Chris Martin Is Gay
25 Oct 2011
Well, that’s what U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr. jokingly said to the Coldplay frontman during the Q Awards ceremony in London.
Chris Martin presented Take That’s Gary Barlow the “Q classic songwriter” award. During his speech, Chris Martin expressed his love for U2 and Take That.
"U2 and five handsome, strapping men from Stoke and Manchester.” Chris Martin said, “I'm not afraid to admit it, they made me ask the question “Am I gay?” “
Later that evening the usually quiet U2 drummer turned to the Coldplay singer and joked: "Chris Martin, I have the answer for you: You are gay."
Both bands are tied together by a long, close friendship. Coldplay are often accused of copying U2, but in fact, the two bands are tied together by a long, close friendship. Coldplay and u2 topped the bill at this year’s Glastonbury Festival and Martin’s band previously opened for the Irish superstars.
Coldplay have just released their fifth album, “Mylo Xyloto.” The album features current single, “Paradise” and the much talked-about Rihanna duet, “Princess of China.”
Described by Chris Martin as a “schizophrenic album,” “Mylo Xyloto” is taking Coldplay on a short end-of-year tour with three UK dates. You can buy your Coldplay tickets for the concerts in Glasgow, Manchester and London through Ticketmaster’s GET ME IN! ticket market.
