Kasabian To Tour With Interactive Orange As Stage Prop

Kasabian have revealed stage production details for the band’s forthcoming tour.
Taking songs off their new album “Velociraptor!” on a 13-date UK arena tour in November and December, Kasabian’s light show will be interacting with the crowd's participation and the stage set resembles a giant orange.
What? I think we need some clarification on this.
“Serge and Aitor Throup, who did our album artwork,” explains Kasabian frontman, Tom Meighan “and a guy called Nick who's a f***ing genius at lighting, came up with it. It's going to look great. The idea that the stage will react to fans will be cool. It's never been done.”
A wicked idea, that should make the mad-for-it Kasabian crowd go even wilder at the gigs. Though using a citrus as a stage prop is not necessarily a new idea. The U2 boys took a giant, rotating mirrorball lemon on their PopMart Tour in the mid 1990’s. The lemon was used as a massive mirrorball that would illuminate the stadium, but Bono’s stadium rocking mates also found another means of this excessive stage prop and used it during the shows as a means of transportation from one part of the stage to another.
It will be interesting to see how Kasabian’s new stage concept will be working out when the band hits the road at the end of the month. Kasabian’s interactive orange will also take centre-stage at NYE Re:Wired, Kasabian’s special New Year’s Eve show at The O2 Arena in London on 31st December.
