Arcade Fire announces UK Tour and new album The Suburbs
13 Aug 2010
Following up their appearances at the Reading and Leeds Festivals later this month, Canadian indie-rockers, Arcade Fire have announced a series of UK live dates as part of their European Tour in support of their third studio album, The Suburbs.
See Arcade Fire live with tickets through GET ME IN! at The O2 London (01/12), LG Arena Birmingham (08/12), Cardiff International Arena (09/12), Manchester Central (11/12) and SECC Glasgow (12/12).
The Suburbs is the long-awaited follow-up to 2007’s highly successful Neon Bible album. BBC’s Marc Diver praised the latest offering as Arcade Fire’s OK Computer, in reference to Radiohead’s career-defining masterpiece.
Released on the Merge label, The Suburbs is the culmination of Arcade Fire’s husband and wife songwriting duo of Win Butler and Régine Chassagne and the songwriting and sound explorations by fellow Arcade Fire members, Richard Reed Parry, William Butler, Tim Kingsbury, Sarah Neufeld and Jeremy Gara.
Title track, The Suburbs echoes The Fab Four, while Month Of May is the up-tempo rocker that wouldn’t have looked out of place on early Iggy and The Stooges albums.
The Suburbs has been 3 years in the making but it seems Arcade Fire’s tough touring schedule and time set aside for writing and recording has paid off. Arcade Fire return better and stronger and the forthcoming UK live dates will lay proof to this band’s brilliance. Don’t miss out on Arcade Fire tickets. Tickets for all their UK dates are now available on GET ME IN!
