Paul McCartney To Plays Small Shows in London and Liverpool
08 Dec 2010
Paul McCartney tickets for the ex-Beatle’s intimate Xmas shows at the London HMV Apollo (18th December) and Liverpool O2 Academy (20th December) have gone on sale earlier today, Wednesday 8th December.
The choice of venues and timing couldn’t have been more poignant. Today, music fans remember the 30th anniversary of the untimely death of John Lennon; Paul McCartney’s childhood friend and song writing partner with The Beatles.
Further, these two end-of-year concerts see Paul McCartney return to London’s HMV Apollo, formerly the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre, the venue Paul last played in 1966 with The Beatles alongside John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
If this isn't special enough, how about seeing the legendary songsmith at his homecoming concert in Liverpool? Paul McCartney homecoming shows are always occasions, rather than just concerts and seeing Sir Paul play an intimate venue, such as The O2 Academy will make this a very special live experience.
The December concerts will bring McCartney’s busy touring schedule for the year to a dramatic close. The gigs will be the first UK dates since Paul McCartney performed massive open-air concerts in London and Manchester in front of sold-out audiences.
If last summer’s setlists are anything to go by and the fact that the entire Beatles backcatalogue has just been made officially available on iTunes in digital format for the first time ever, should make fans look forward to a set relying heavily on Paul’s glorious days in The Beatles.
