Strokes Bassist Reveals Album Release Date and Tour Plans
Today, The Strokes put an end to the speculations on the release date of their new album. Replying to a fan’s post on Facebook, Nikolai Fraiture, bassist with NYC’s indie rocker revealed, "Yes! You read right… March 22! (…) Looking forward to playing the new songs live."

The 10-track album is the long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s “First Impressions Of Earth” and was initially recorded and produced by Joe Chiccarelli and later by the band themselves. Album title and cover artwork are yet to be confirmed.

Hinting at the album’s sound, Fraiture recently told the BBC, "Sonically, I feel it's the album which should have been made between “Room On Fire” and “First Impressions Of Earth.”

A world tour with UK live dates is expected later in the year with UK festival appearances throughout summer. The only European live date confirmed at this stage is The Strokes’ appearance at this year’s Benicassim Festival (14th July) in Spain.
