Happy by Pharrell Williams goes triple platinum
Pharrell Williams’ Happy has received triple platinum status with 1.8million sales becoming the fourth single in 20 years to do so.

The track which was featured on the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack and Pharrell’s second solo album, Girl, has been declared triple platinum joining just four other singles to do so in the past 20 years.

Happy has received over 25 million streams, which is the equivalent of 250,000 sales, and together with physical sales the track has notched over 1.8million sales. In order for a track to be certified platinum it has to earn 600,000 sales.

Pharrell Williams’ Happy joins Aqua's Barbie Girl, Will Young's Anything Is Possible/Evergreen and Elton John's Candle In The Wind 1997/Something About The Way You Look Tonight, which is the biggest selling UK single to date.

Fans in the UK can catch the singer/producer in September when he brings his Dear Girl tour to the UK. The tour includes dates in Manchester (9 September) and London (9, 10 October) with tickets now on sale.
