Robbie Williams lost out to band mate Gary Barlow
04 Dec 2013
Gary Barlow has snatched the crown from fellow Take That bandmate Robbie Williams in the Official Albums Chart.
Robbie Williams released his album Swings Both Ways on 18 November, which bagged him a No.1 and the title of the 1000th No.1 album.
However, a week later Gary Barlow and One Direction changed everything.
Releasing his newest album, Since I Saw You Last, Gary Barlow knocked Robbie into third position while One Direction took the top spot.
Despite Gary only making it to No.2 he’s safe in the knowledge that his opening week’s sales were better than Robbie’s.
Gary Barlow’s opening week sold116,000 copies while Robbie Williams took 109,000.
Despite the two Take That starts battling it out it was their younger counterparts, One Direction, with their album Midnight Memories that landed the No.1 spot and became the fastest selling album of 2014.
