Kings of Leon announce album release date
Kings of Leon have announced the release date for the band’s forthcoming, fifths album. Come Around Sundown is going to be released in the UK on 18 October and a day later in the US and is the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2007’s tremendously successful album Only By Night.

Only By Night has sold over 6 million copies to date around the globe, received 4 Grammy Awards and was awarded 6 times Platinum in the UK. The new album, Come Around Sundown was recorded in New York City between February and June with Angelo Petraglia once more on production duties and is tipped to match the success of its predecessor. Lead single off the album is ‘Radioactive' and hits the shops on 14 September.

Kings of Leon are currently on tour in the US and it is strongly rumoured that the rockers from Nashville, Tennessee are also taking the tour across the pond for European and UK concerts in 2011.

The current US leg of the Kings of Leon tour has made headline news after the band was forced to cut short their set at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in St Louis after large amounts of pigeon feces dropped from the stage rafters on the Kings of Leon’s Caleb, Nathan, Jared and Matthew Followill during their performance.

Trying to put the incident behind them, Kings of Leon have told the music weekly NME the now widely known ‘Pigeongate’ has given more publicity to the band than anything they have ever done before. The new album Come Around Sundown should change this for the band and open up a new era for the Kings of Leon. Fans and media are highly anticipating the new album which you can now pre-order from the iTunes or Amazon.
