Ed Sheeran has confessed details about his second album in an interview with Radio 1's Zane Lowe.
During an interview on Zane Lowe’s radio show the singer admitted to having mixed feelings about the album and how a break in the states proved to be what he needed.
Ed Sheeran said to Zane Lowe, "It was one of these things that I fell in and out of love with. I think if I'd have come back with a second record instantly, there wouldn't have been any excitement”
The album, which is expected to be released later this year, was produce by Rick Rubin and recorded in LA. Ed Sheeran’s previous album + landed him the No.1 spot in the UK Official Album Charts.
His first album was released in 2011 and despite the break in albums Ed Sheeran added in the interview with Zane, "Although it was important to give myself a break I think it was also important to give the public a break as well.”
Ed Sheeran announced that he would tour UK arenas in October of this year. The UK tour follows on from supporting Taylor Swift in the US on her Red tour last year. Tickets for Ed Sheeran's tour are on sale now.
