Ed Sheeran predicted to take home Grammy Award
Ed Sheeran is expected to be one of the winners at this year’s 56th Annual Grammy Awards.

The singer/songwriter, who just announced a full UK arena tour, has been predicted as the winner of the Best New Artist category based on social media popularity.

Huffington Post reported that according to Starcount, the social media aggregator, Ed Sheeran is tipped to take the award due to the huge increase in fans that he has received on his social media accounts this year.

Although he’s been absent from the UK, the star has been busy in the US which could explain the influx of fans. He started 2012 with a US tour that went on into 2013 and ended the year working with country singer Taylor Swift.

Ed Sheeran appeared on Taylor Swift’s album with the song Everything Has Changed that was co-written by the pair. He then went on to tour with the star on her Red arena tour around the US.

Ed Sheeran’s The A Team was nominated for the Song of the Year Grammy Award last year but lost out to Fun’s We Are Young.

Ed Sheeran is expected to release his second album, a follow up to 2011’s +, later this year and announced that he would embark on his first arena UK tour in October.

Tickets for Ed Sheeran’s tour are available now. Ed Sheeran will perform at Belfast, Leeds, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Newcastle, Manchester and Glasgow.
