Garth Brooks to perform in Dublin

County music star Garth Brooks flew to Dublin to announce that he will perform twice in Dublin’s Croke Park in July.
Garth Brooks announced on Monday that he will return to Dublin's Croke Park for The Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event ahead of his worldwide tour. The star flew to Dublin to make the announcement.
The performances will take place on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July 2014. He first played at Croke Park nearly 16 years ago in 1997.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at Croke Park. Garth Brooks said, “In '97, we were lucky enough to play Croke Park, the stadium was under construction. (There was over) 130,000 of some of the greatest fans in the world.
"I was quoted then as saying "When this stadium is finished, I would love to come back and try to fill it again...this time to the brink."...and we're back to do just that."
Garth Brooks retired from his successful career in 2001. Since retiring he’s performed at a select few events namely for charitable causes. He notably performed at President Barack Obama’s inauguration at the Lincoln Memorial hall.
