The Libertines reunion angers Mayfair residents
29 Apr 2014
The Libertines Hyde Park reunion has resulted in complaints from Mayfair residents, despite fans eagerly awaiting the show.
The Libertines will reunite for the first time since 2010 on 5 July 2014. The performance will be part of British Summer Time; a ten day festival held in Hyde Park.
However, The Independent reported that residents in Mayfair have complained about the reunion due noise levels and nuisance.
The reunion will see Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell perform together for the first time since 2010 when they took to the stage at Reading and Leeds Festival. Their Hyde Park performance will be their biggest ever gig in the UK.
The Libertines reunion will mark ten years since the band split in 2004. The split happened at during the same year they released their eponymous album, which catapulted them to cult status.
Also performing headline shows at the British Summer Time festival will be Black Sabbath, McBusted, Neil Young & Crazy Horse and Tom Jones.
The Libertines tickets for their Hyde Park reunion show are available now.
