Beyonce receives gold status following change in chart rules
Beyonce’s Drunk In Love track has received gold status after chart rules have been changed to include streaming data.

The singer is just one of many artists to receive an upgrade in status following the change. In order for the song to count as a sale it must be streamed 100 times, while a track has to be played for at least 30 seconds to count as a stream.

Along with Beyonce, Oasis’s Champagne Supernova has been upgraded to silver discs for 20,000 sales while Clean Bandit’s Rather Be has received double platinum status.

Beyonce’s Drunk In Love was lifted from Beyonce’s surprise eponymous album in December 2013. The track has now been upgraded to gold status following 40,000 sales.

Beyonce is returning to Europe in September 2014 with her husband, Jay Z, where they will play two shows in Paris as part of their On The Run joint tour. The concerts will take place at the Stade de France on 12 and 13 September 2014. Tickets are now on sale for Beyonce and Jay Z’s tour.
