Ed Sheeran scoops No1 for seventh week
Ed Sheeran leads the UK albums chart for the seventh consecutive week with X.

Ed Sheeran’s second album has landed him at the top of the charts for a seventh week leading Dolly Parton, Sam Smith, Coldplay and George Ezra who make up the Top 5.

It was back in 2005 when the last longest run for a male solo artist occurred with James Blunt’s Back To Bedlam remaining at No.1 for eight consecutive weeks.

The flame-haired singer revealed the video for Don’t, the second single to be lifted from X, last week.

In support of the album, Ed Sheeran will embark on his biggest UK tour in October that will see Ed headline arenas for the first time. Tickets for the tour are now on sale.
