Ed Sheeran leads UK albums chart for eighth week
Ed Sheeran has done it again staying at the top of the UK charts with X for the eighth consecutive week.

The 23 year-old singer is now tied with James Blunt as the longest male solo artist to lead the albums chart after his second album X became No.1 for the eighth week.

James Blunt was the original title holder with his 2005 album Back to Bedlam while Adele currently holds the longest-running No.1 album with 21 that was released in 2011.

This week’s albums chart was completed by Sam Smith, who moved up one place, Dolly Parton, Glaslight Anthem and Richard & Adam.

To top of Ed Sheeran’s year, he will take X on the road in October 2014. The 20-date UK and Ireland tour will be his first headline arena tour with dates in Belfast, Leeds, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin.
