Royal Blood score No1 album
01 Sep 2014
Royal Blood’s self-titled album has become the fastest selling rock debut in three years taking the lead in this week’s albums chart.
The Brighton duo have not only managed to become this week’s No.1 with their debut self-titled album but also claimed the fastest selling rock debut with nearly 66,000 copies sold. They have become the quickest selling rock debut since Noel Gallagher released High Flying Birds in 2011.
Following the success, Royal Blood have announced a huge UK tour that will take place during October and November 2014. The tour will include their first London headline shows at Camden’s Electric Ballroom on 6 and 7 November.
Meanwhile in the UK charts, Ed Sheeran has maintained his No.2 position while last week’s No.1 Collobrao has moved to No.4. Ariana Grande’s My Everything takes No.3 while Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour rounds off the Top 5.
Royal Blood tickets for their UK and Irish tour will go on general sale on Friday 5 August 2014 with tickets available via presales on Wednesday.
