Ben Howard lands first UK No1 album
28 Oct 2014
Ben Howard scored his first UK No.1 with his second studio album I Forget Where We Were this weekend.
The singer-songwriter’s second studio album went straight to the top of the charts following its release. The album is the follow up to his 2011 debut Every Kingdom, which peaked at No.4.
The 27-year-old faced competition from Slipknot’s new album 5: The Gray Chapter that charted at No.2, Ed Sheeran’s X (which remains in the Top 5 at No.3), Neil Diamond’s Melody Road and Status Quo’s Aquostic – Stripped Bare.
I Forget Where We Were was produced by long-time collaborator Chris Bond, who he worked with on his debut, and was released by Island Records. The album is the follow-up to Every Kingdom, which saw Ben Howard nominated for a Mercury Prize.
Following the chart-topping hit Ben Howard has announced a UK tour for April 2015. The tour will include dates in the likes of Liverpool, Glasgow and Birmingham along with a concert at London’s Alexandra Palace. Ben Howard tickets go on general sale on Friday 31 October.
