The Script to play Croke Park Stadium in Dublin
03 Nov 2014
Irish trio The Script will headline Dublin’s Croke Park during summer 2015 with support from Pharrell Williams.
The Script announced on Friday 1 November that they will play the biggest show of their career in their hometown of Dublin during June 2015.
Their Croke Park gig will take place on 20 June 2015 and the band will be supported by the Happy singer and producer Pharrell Williams. Tickets go on general sale on Thursday 6 November.
The group - Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power – revealed that they are the third Irish act to headline Croke Park stadium during a press conference at the venue where they announced the news.
Frontman Danny O’Donoghue went on to say, “It’s taken us eight years to get here but here we are. It’s a monumental occasion for the band but also for Irish music as well.”
Although it is their first time headlining the venue, the boys are familiar with Croke Park having previously supported U2 and Take That there.
The concert follows on from their 2015 tour which will take place during February and March 2015. The tour includes shows in the likes of Leeds, Nottingham and Liverpool along with a duo of shows in Glasgow, Manchester and London. Tickets are now on sale for their 2015 tour.
The Script released No Sound Without Silence earlier this year that landed them their third UK No.1 and includes the single Superheroes.
