One Direction achieve fourth consecutive US No1
One Direction have become the first band to land four consecutive No.1 albums in the US with their fourth release, Four.

The group have ended Taylor Swift’s chart reign on the US Billboard 200 albums chart by selling 387,000 copies in the first week of release.

One Direction’s previous albums, Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012) and Midnight Memories (2013) have all peaked at the top of the Billboard chart. While over in the UK, Four became 1D’s third consecutive UK No.1. Their debut album peaked at No.2.

Prior to Four’s release, the album proved to be a huge success charting at No.1 in 67 countries in the iTunes store. Four includes the singles Steal My Girl and Night Changes.

One Direction mania continued this week with the announcement on Saturday 29 November that they will bring their world tour to the UK and Ireland during autumn 2015 in support of Four.

Their tour, On The Road Again, will see One Direction return to arenas following on from their stadium tour earlier in the year, with the exception of one summer gig at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium. Tickets for One Direction’s tour will be on general sale from Saturday 6 December with presales starting from Thursday.

Fans can see One Direction ahead of their 2015 tour in December when they will perform at the first BBC Music Awards. The ceremony will take place at London’s Earl’s Court on 11 December and will recognise the biggest names in pop.
