X Factor winner Ben Haenow on track for Christmas No1
The 2014 X Factor winner Ben Haenow holds on early lead in the fight to become this year’s Christmas No.1.

Ben Haenow released his winning track Something I Need after been crowned the champion on Sunday night’s X Factor. The single is a cover of OneRepublic’s track and was performed on the show.

The Official Charts reported today that Haenow has currently taken an early lead with 75,000 downloads of the track. The physical copy is on sale today. Current No.1, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk, is 23,000 copies behind Ben.

Also in the running to become this year’s Christmas No.1 is Band Aid’s Do They Know It’s Christmas, Iron Maiden’s The Number Of The Beast (thanks to an internet campaign) and Ed Harcourt’s The Way That I Live amongst others.

Meanwhile, Ben Haenow will head out on tour with the rest of the X Factor contestants in January. The X Factor Live tour will visit a number of cities from January to March. Tickets can be found here.
