Madame Tussauds to create Ed Sheeran waxwork
23 Jan 2015
Ed Sheeran revealed that he will be immortalised by the waxwork museum.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter’s takeover continues. He confirmed that he has been measured up by Madame Tussauds’ sculptors during an interview on BBC’s The One Show.
Discussing the experience he said, "Today has been full on... I got measured for Madame Tussauds which was one of the weirdest experiences of my life because they put me in skin-tight grey shorts and a skin-tight vest which didn't leave much to the imagination.”
Sheeran joins a host of celebrities from the entertainment, sport and royal world that have all been commemorated by the museum. This includes the likes of Beyoncé, Adele and even the Queen.
The singer dominated the 2014 charts with the release of his third album X. The collection became the year’s biggest-selling album. He went on to score his first UK No.1 single with Sing that was soon followed by his second, Thinking Out Loud.
Later this year he will headline the iconic Wembley Stadium for three nights performing on 10, 11 and 12 July. The dates follow Sheeran’s sell-out arena 2014 tour. Tickets for Ed Sheeran’s Wembley Stadium concerts are now on sale here.
